Matthew Lyons, founder of Teach Music Production, is an accomplished educator, author, and speaker with over 20 years of classroom experience. As the Music and Media Arts Director at Oak Park Music & Media Arts Magnet School in San Diego, California, Matthew specializes in music production and songwriting, empowering both students and teachers to harness technology as a creative tool.

 

With a decade of focused experience in music production education, Matthew helps music educators confidently integrate modern tools into their classrooms to spark creativity, deepen engagement, and elevate student outcomes. He holds a master’s degree in curriculum development from the University of San Diego and a master’s degree in music technology from the University of Valley Forge.  He is also Avid-certified in Pro Tools and Sibelius. Passionate about innovation in music education, Matthew is committed to inspiring the next generation of creators—and the educators who guide them.
